Work On The Weak Links.
When you're in the field, concentrate your efforts on the weakest players on your team. Your best guys really don't need much help from you.
Silenced Weapons.
Always use silenced weapons in hostage rescues; otherwise, you're toast.
Shoot To Kill.
When you go for a kill, always aim for the head. One bullet will do the trick if you hit the head, while it takes several shots to the rest of the body to take out the enemy, giving him time to pump a few rounds into you.
Practice Your Grenade Toss.
Before you try to toss a grenade through a window or doorway, practice your aim in the grenade range (the Training option on the game menu). You don't want to kill yourself by bouncing the grenade off the door frame.
Blow the Door Down.
Your gun is your best key for locked doors. Set the gun to full auto and aim for the door handle. It make take as many as five shots, but you'll get it open.
Send Out a Scout.
For easier first person control, make one of your teams a single soldier and take control of him right away in combat. This will allow you to scout for danger without risking a whole team and maneuver without worrying about getting stuck by a soldier's decision to follow the leader mindlessly.
Choose Your Weapon.
When picking your weapons, the CAR-15 is your best all-around gun, powerful and good for up-close shooting. Second choice is the M16, a great sniping gun.
Minimize Crashing.
To minimize the odds of a fatal crash, keep the game set at 640 by 480 resolution and use the "typical" installation. Although you might think a full install would be more stable, it isn't for this game.

See Around Corners.
To get a look around a corner or doorway, stand right behind it and switch to outside view (F1). Keep turning and look up or down until the camera lets you see around.
Operation Perfect Sword.
Enable the "Explore mode" code. When the driver is in the tanker truck, walk to the very front (or this trick will not work). Walk up to the front and shoot out the driver's window. This will take more than one shot. Shoot the driver from the front and watch what happens. You can then throw a frag under the truck or just shoot out the tires.
Switch Terrorist Weapons with Primary or Secondary Weapons.
Note: This procedure involves changing game files; create backup copies of the files before proceeding. Enter the "data" folder in the folder where the game was installed. Then, enter the "kit" folder. In here are the guns, armor, terrorist, terrorist kit items, and your kit items. Any file that starts with "pw_" is a primary weapon. Any file that starts with "sw_" is a secondary weapon. Any file that starts with "tw_" is a terrorist weapon. To switch the guns find one of the files previously mentioned. For example, if you want to switch the SPAS 12 with the AK-74, move the file named "pw_spas12.wpn" outside of the folder. Then copy "tw_ak74.wpn" to the desktop, rename it to "pw_spas12.wpn", then put it back into the "kit" directory. When the game is played, select the SPAS 12 at the kit selection screen. The SPAS 12 will be switched to the AK-74 during game play. You can do this with any of the terrorist guns and switch them with any primary weapons or weapons. Just remember what gun you switched them with.
The terrorist guns are as follows:-
AK-47 (file name = tw_ak47.wpn) - Second best Assault Rifle.
AK-74 (file name = tw_ak74.wpn) - Best Assault Rifle, will rip through any body armor.
Dragonov Sniper Rifle (file name = tw_dragunov.wpn) - Very weak Sniper Rifle.
Skorpion (file name = tw_skorp.wpn) - Like the Uzi. Better recoil but magazine not as large.
Uzi (file name = tw_skorp.wpn) - Awesome sub-machine gun. Very maneuverable, huge magazine, but expends a lot of ammo.
